Lets talk some Royal Delta....

I love nothing more, than when fillies kick ass.  And in todays racing, I think the fillies are doing a much better job than the colts.  Due to my slow work day yesterday, I re-watched the replay of the Ladies Classic, and Royal Delta for lack of better terms kicked ass.  She was relaxed for basically the first mile, but stayed no more than two or three lengths of the lead, and then boom down the stretch, when she was challenged by It's Tricky and Plum Pretty, Royal D threw herself into overdrive and easily won.  On February 2nd, she trained at Payson Park Training Center, and breezed four furlongs in 48:20 on a fast rack, ranking 1/12, then on February 9th, she worked six furlongs in 1:16:30. (news from her facebook page).  Since Ben Leon's Besilu Stables purched Royal Delta for a whopping $8.5 million back on November 8th, I'm sure her team wants to make this investment worth while.  Royal D is returning to the races on February 25th, in the Grade 3 Sabin at Gulfstream Park.  If all goes well, then she will ship over to Dubai  for the World Cup on March 31st.
